How Xameleon web scraping proxies help

Stable carrier IPs

Real 4G carrier IPs keep long collection runs consistent.

Change IP on demand

Keep the same IP for multi-step pages and change it from your account when you want a fresh one.

Works with your stack

HTTP(S) and SOCKS5 work with Scrapy, Playwright, Puppeteer, cURL and your own code.

Location targeting

Collect localized pages from our launch locations.

How web scraping with Xameleon works

1

Define the data

Decide which public data you need and check the site's terms and robots.txt.
2

Configure the proxy

Add host, port and credentials to your scraper.
3

Pace your requests

Set sensible delays and change the IP when it makes sense.
4

Monitor and adjust

Watch error rates and tune concurrency and when you change the IP.

Responsible use

Xameleon proxies are for lawful business use. Respect each website's terms of use and robots.txt, keep request rates reasonable, and follow our Acceptable Use Policy.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on the data, the website's terms and applicable law. Collect only publicly available data you are entitled to use, and respect robots.txt and rate limits.
The IP stays the same while you work, and you change it from your account. Keep it for workflows that span several steps, and change it between independent jobs, or order several proxies and spread requests across them in your own code.

Web scraping proxies: what to know before you collect data

Web scraping proxies send your requests through another IP address, so a page loads from the country and network you choose. Our 4G mobile proxies use IPs from real mobile carriers. You connect over HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 with a login and password, and the IP stays the same while you work. We are launching in the United States, Ukraine and Moldova.

Teams use them to collect public data: product listings, travel fares, property ads, search results and market statistics. Every project follows the same ground rules. Take only data you may use, read the site's terms and robots.txt, and keep your request rate reasonable. Our guide to responsible proxy use explains how.

Why use mobile proxies for web scraping?

Carrier IPs are shared by many ordinary subscribers, so websites tend to give them a strong reputation. For long collection runs, that supports consistent results. There is a trade-off. We bill mobile bandwidth per GB, and datacenter IPs usually cost less for bulk transfers. Our comparison of mobile and datacenter proxies helps you decide which fits each source.

How IP changes work when you scrape

Keep the same IP while one task needs a single address across several steps, such as paginated results or a form that keeps state on the server. When every fetch stands alone, as with product pages, listings or search results, change the IP on demand between runs, or order several proxies and spread the requests across them in your own code. Changing the IP spreads load across addresses, but it does not raise the pace a site allows. Our guide on how to rotate proxies automatically shows how to switch between proxies in your own code.

How to scrape public data responsibly

Write down the fields you need and where they come from. Check each site's terms and robots.txt, then decide how often the data truly changes. Give every source its own request budget and delay, cap concurrency, and slow down when responses lag or errors appear. Stop if a site asks you to. If a source contains personal data, apply the privacy rules that cover it. The article on web scraping at scale goes deeper on rate limits, error handling and data validation.

Data collection proxies in Python, Scrapy and Playwright

Any scraper that supports HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 proxies will work. Add the host, port and credentials, then send a test request before you start a job. The Python proxy tutorial shows requests, sessions, SOCKS5, timeouts and retries. To confirm the connection, use the IP checker and latency test in our proxy tools.

Plan your traffic before you buy. You pay per GB for web scraping proxies, so fetch only the HTML or JSON you need, skip images and fonts in headless browsers, reuse connections and cache pages that rarely change. Smaller transfers mean a smaller bill. When you are ready, compare plans and per-country prices or buy mobile proxies by choosing a type, a country and the amount. Related use cases have their own pages: price monitoring and SERP tracking.
