Counterfeit sellers, lookalike shops and misleading ads reach customers in specific countries, often through listings and search results that differ from market to market. A brand team that checks only from its home country sees part of the picture. Brand protection monitoring means reviewing public marketplaces, search results and websites from the markets that matter, and recording what you find.
Xameleon’s 4G mobile proxies route these checks through IPs of real mobile carriers, with a sticky IP you can change on demand and HTTP(S) or SOCKS5 access. We are starting in the United States, Ukraine and Moldova, with more locations to follow. They suit brand, legal and security teams, and the agencies that serve them, who review public pages in line with each site’s terms.
Counterfeit listing detection has to be local, because listings, prices, shipping options and even the sellers shown change by country. Search each marketplace from the markets where you sell, using your brand names, product names, model numbers and common misspellings. Compare each result with your list of authorized resellers, official photos and prices. Flag sellers with unusually low prices, copied photos or product details that do not match your catalog.
Record the listing URL, seller name, price and the time of the check. Counterfeit listings often return after a takedown, so repeat each search on a schedule. Keep the pace modest and respect the marketplace’s terms. Many marketplaces run their own brand-protection and reporting programs, and you should file cases through them.
Customers meet your brand in search results before they reach your site, so brand protection monitoring has to cover them. Brand misuse monitoring starts with the queries customers type: your brand name, product names and phrases such as “outlet” or “official store”, in each language and country that matters. Look for lookalike domains, ads that use your trademark without permission and pages that imitate your store. Lookalike and phishing pages are often aimed at one country or at phones, so a desktop check from your office can miss them.
For the paid side, see ad verification proxies. For the organic positions of your own brand queries, SERP tracking proxies cover the workflow. Only view public pages, never enter credentials or personal data on a suspected scam site, and pass serious cases to your security or legal team.
A report is stronger when it shows what the shopper saw. For each finding, save a full-page capture, the page source, the URL and the date, time and location of the check. Keep them in one folder or case tool so you can attach them to a platform’s report form. Evidence rules differ between platforms and jurisdictions, so confirm with your legal team what a notice needs.
After a takedown, check the same listing, query and market again to confirm the content is gone. Keep the same IP when you follow a listing through several pages. The guide to rotating proxies shows how to change IPs on demand.
Brand protection monitoring is easier to run when it starts small: a short list of assets and three or four priority markets. Keep checks modest and scheduled, and confirm the exit country with the free proxy tools before each run. The article on responsible proxy use explains how to protect credentials and captured data.
